About Us
Whether you're an experienced Linux user looking for an outlet to the community for making dissertation help, familiar with Linux but not sure where to begin, or haven't heard of Linux and would like to find out what all the commotion is about, we're here for you. If you live in Knoxville, the surrounding area or just visit often, join our mailing list and find out what's going on locally.
We are an organization of the University of Tennessee, dedicated to using and promoting Linux and OpenSource Software, and although we are a University organization we are by no means limited to the campus community! We welcome anyone from Knoxville and the surrounding area with any interest in Linux to join and interact through any of our various outlets and resources. Feel free to stop by any of our meetings and events to share and learn about what's going on in the OpenSource and Linux community.
KnoxLUG is also known as UTKLUG or KLUG.
Monthly Meetings
Regular meetings of the Knoxville Linux Users Group (KnoxLUG / UTKLUG / KLUG) will be twice monthly.

- 1st Monday (formal) at 6:30 PM Eastern Time.
- 3rd Saturday (informal) at 10:30 AM Eastern Time.

Officers
| President | ||
| Responsible for gathering ideas and suggestions from group members and translating them into projects, the President carries out any duties deemed necessary that are not specifically delegated to another officer. This officer also presides over all KnoxLUG meetings and only votes on an issue or in an election to break a tie. The President is also the group's formal representative in cases where only an individual is required/allowed. |

| Vice President | ||
| In charge of finding volunteers and delegating project managers for projects that have been suggested by the group. The Vice President is to act in place of the President in the event that the President cannot attend a meeting or event. This officer is also in charge of maintaining the KnoxLUG linux distribution for InstallFests and other events. Manages accounts such as knoxlug.org and our mailing list. Also keeps track of KnoxLUG's ongoing projects and team members. |

* In the case that the President or VP of KnoxLUG is a local student unavailable during the summer months, an interim will be chosen at the last formal meeting before the summer break begins.

Keeping Tabs & Giving Back
- KnoxLUG Mailing List : The KnoxLUG mailing list is our primary way of communicating with other group members including event announcements, general Linux help, etc. If you're having problems with Linux or any other open source application, this is a great resource with many members available for support.
